A pre race sample was taken from Cosmic Brew.
Perfecy Chase, Sir Julian and Butterfish were slow to begin.
Maximum Jodie, Sir Julian and Butterfish collided approaching the first turn checking Maximum Jodie and Perfect Chase severely checking Sir Julian. Southern Edge, Run Fast Bonnie and Sir Julian collided approaching the home turn. Run Fast Bonnie and Cosmic Brew collided on the home turn. Southern Edge checked off Parumba Taylah approaching the winning post. Cosmic Brew and Perfect Chase collided approaching the winning post.
Southern Edge underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
