Steward's Report
Houdini Boy was slow to begin. Mepunga Pegasus and Spearhead collided soon after the start. Mepunga Pegasus checked off Silver Smarty on the first turn. Two Up Thommo and I'm Easy Boys collided on the first turn. Trindad Scorpion, Houdini Boy and Silver Smarty collided approaching the second turn checking Trindad Scorpion and Houdini Boy. Silver Smarty, Two Up Thommo, I'm Easy Boys and Mepunga Pegasus collided on the home turn checking Trindad Scorpion and Two Up Thommo. Mepunga Pegasus marred Inga Mia in the home straight.
Mepunga Pegasus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hamstrings, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Shaw, Representative of Mepunga Pegasus regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mepunga Pegasus was charged with marring. Mr Shaw pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mepunga Pegasus was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
