Steward's Report
Truth and Patriot Lincoln were slow to begin.
Murt Law and Truth collided soon after the start. Flying Soldier and Agent Snowy collided at the 300m mark and again at the 100m mark checking Agent Snowy which tailed off.
Agent Snowy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey and right pencil muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Hardy, the trainer of Agent Snowy regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Agent Snowy must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Murt Law - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr J. Hardy, regarding the performances of Regal Jet (Race 1), Bad Boy Sage (Race 2) and Agent Snowy (Race 3) at today's meeting. Mr Hardy told Stewards that all three greyhounds had been trialling well at both Shepparton and Healesville and pulled up sound. Whilst Stewards took into consideration the injuries sustained to all three greyhounds and their first racing starts, Stewards were of the view that both Regal Jet and Agent Snowy be required to perform Satisfactory Trials pursuant to GAR71 (unsatisfactory performances) before any future nominations will be accepted. Mr Hardy advised Stewards that he had made an appointment with his regular vet for further examination this afternoon and Stewards requested a veterinary report of those assessments be provided to Stewards for review by GRV Veterinary Services.
