A pre-race sample was taken from Gosh.
Battle Cruiser crossed to the outside soon after the start and marred Anita Sonic Love. Ray's Boy and Meehan Ziggy collided soon after the start. Ray's Boy and Who Told Gawnie collided at the 250m mark. Meehan Ziggy and Gosh collided at the 250m mark. Ray's Boy and Meehan Ziggy collided approaching the 150m mark. Eau De Vie brushed the running rail at the 150m mark.
Battle Cruiser underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms A. Terry, the trainer of Battle Cruiser regarding the greyhound's racing manners soon after start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Battle Cruiser was charged with marring. Ms Terry pleaded guilty to the charge, Battle Cruiser is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
