Frankie Fever and Handsome collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark. Handsome and Joking Bear collided several times approaching the 100m mark. Billy's Missile and Busy Time collided at the 50m mark. Handsome, Joking Bear and Busy Time collided approaching the winning post. Mr. Vinnie, Challis Sprite and Billy's Missile collided approaching the winning post.
Joking Bear underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Handsome - the winner of the event.
