Steward's Report
Yassie Belle was vetted prior to the running of this event by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and was passed fit to compete.
Squirming and Glorious One were quick to beglin Yassie Belle was slow to begin. Carter and Big Leigh collided soon after the start. Angelique Bay and Amelie Otis collided on the first turn checking Amelie Otis, Yassie Belle and Rapid Bay. Big Leigh and Glorious One collided approaching the home turn. Amelie Otis eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight and collided with Glorious One.
Amelie Otis was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to back left toe and an injury to the left pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mrs K. Bunworth, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Amelie Otis was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury.) Mrs Bunworth pleaded guilty to the charge, Amelie Otis must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
