Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Nova's Way was quick to begin. Separatist, Orson Reiko, Reiko Langer and Reiko Oreo were slow to begin.
Orson Reiko checked off Reiko Barty soon after the start. Orson Reiko and Reiko Langer collided approaching the first turn; checking both greyhounds, which raced wide as a result. Reiko Oreo eased approaching the first turn and again approaching the winning post; and subsequently tailed off.
Reiko Oreo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race six. Reiko Oreo was found to have a right hindleg triangle injury. A five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms Deborah Coleman regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the first turn and again approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Reiko Oreo was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge, Reiko Oreo was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
