Steward's Report
Shucks and Lizzie's Glory were quick to begin. Reiko Bingle was slow to begin.
Shucks and Gutter Stomper collided soon after the start. Bella Reiko and Reiko Shock collided soon after the start. Reiko Bingle and Reiko Haze collided approaching the first turn; checking Reiko Haze. Reiko Haze contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground. Shucks and Lizzie's Glory collided on the first turn; checking both greyhounds. Shucks turned its head out in the home straight and approaching the winning post.
Shucks underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hindleg metatarsal. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Benjamin George, the trainer of Shucks regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Shucks was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr George pleaded guilty to the charge, Shucks was found guilty and suspended for three months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Reiko Haze underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hindleg stifle. No stand down period was imposed.
