Diesel Riot and Nana Judy were quick to begin.
Diesel Riot and Nana Judy collided soon after the start. Nana Judy, Trending Rookie, Cousin's Ace, Zippy Volkswagon, Fernando Bella and Gracie Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Nana Judy and Zippy Volkswagon severely checking Trending Rookie, Fernando Bella and Gracie Bale. Cousin's Ace and Zippy Volkswagon collided on the home turn. Cousin's Ace and Gracie Bale collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Cousin's Ace marred Zippy Volkswagon entering the home straight checking Cousin's Ace, Zippy Volkswagon and Gypsy Urana.
Stewards spoke to Mr Brett Nye, the trainer of Cousin's Ace regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Cousin's Ace was charged with marring. Mr Nye pleaded guilty to the charge, Cousin's Ace was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Cousin's Ace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
