Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Gold Azalea – Late scratching at 10.05 am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a front left toe injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Due to persistent fog affecting the visibility of the track, the time of this race was changed from 10:57am to 11:12am. All races were amended to the following times: race 2: 11:27am, race 3: 11:47am, race 4: 12:04pm, race 5: 12:19pm, race 6 12:44pm, race 7: 1:05pm, race 8: 1:30pm, race 9: 1:47pm, race 10: 2:09pm, race 11: 2:26pm and race 12: 2:43pm.
Bowie was slow to begin.
Farmer's Arms and Spitfire Striker collided soon after the start. Farmer's Arms, Bowie and Winlock Buggy collided at the 250m mark. Bowie and Spitfire Striker collided at the 100m mark. Winlock Buggy and Hala Diego collided several times from the 100m mark to approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Geoff Mitchell regarding the racing manners of Spitfire Striker at the 100m mark. After hearing evidence from Mr Mitchell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 100m mark.
A post-race sample was taken from Winlock Buggy - the winner of the event.
