Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Mega Heist.
Piece Of Heaven and Red Mahogany collided soon after the start checking Red Mahogany. Mega Heist turned it's head outwards on the first turn. One Hombre, Yussuf Bale, Tommy Cawbourne and Flying Miss collided on the first turn checking Tommy Cawbourne and Flying Miss. Mega Heist eased approaching the second turn and collided with Red Mahogany and Piece Of Heaven checking Mega Heist, Red Mahogany and Piece Of Heaven. Mega Heist and Piece Of Heaven collided on the home turn.
Mega Heist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Malcolm Davis, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Mega Heist was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Davis pleaded guilty to the charge, Mega Heist was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
