Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Inga Assalt.
Union Man was slow to begin.
Silver Harp and High Beam collided on the first turn checking Silver Harp; causing Silver Harp to collide with Union Man. Inter Vince and Inga Assalt collided in the home straight. Inter Vince and Charm Offensive collided in the home straight. Union Man turned its head outwards in the home straight. Union Man and Charm Offensive collided in the home straight. Inter Vince and Charm Offensive collided approaching the winning post.
Union Man underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr John Higgins regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Union Man was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Higgins pleaded not guilty to the charge, Union Man was found guilty and suspended for 90 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to representative Mr Tony Interligi regarding the racing manners of Inter Vince approaching the home turn. After hearing evidence from Mr Interligi, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
