Steward's Report
The all clear to this event was delayed to enable Stewards to review vision of the start of the race. After doing so it was established that King Brown had its paw on the front of the boxes when the lids opened, resulting in that greyhound being lifted up with the lids and beginning awkwardly. As Stewards were satisified that King Brown's own actions affected its start to the race the all clear was declared.
King Brown went up with lids and lost considerable ground.
Wishly Bale and Yeran collided approaching the first turn. Another Avatar faltered on the first turn and subsequently tailed off. Riverdale Mitch turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Another Avatar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right triangle muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
King Brown underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Riverdale Mitch underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle and the right quadriceps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Ian Green regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Riverdale Mitch was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Green pleaded guilty to the charge, Riverdale Mitch was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
