Miss Somerton, Aston Rum, How's It Alice, Irwin Bale and Lightning Fury collided on the first turn severely checking How's It Alice, Aston Rum, Miss Somerton and Lightning Fury and causing How's It Alice to stumble and lose considerable ground. Aston Rum galloped on Miss Somerton on the first turn.
How's It Alice underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind foot. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
