Steward's Report
Amber Mahogany was slow to begin.
Mt. View Ginger and Kraken Tyson collided soon after the start checking Kraken Tyson. Coconino and Classy Edition collided on the first turn checking Coconino. Kraken Tyson turned his head outwards and collided with Classy Edition entering the home straight.
Coconino underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions below the right eye. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. McCullagh regarding the racing manners of Coconino approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr McCullagh, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
Kraken Tyson underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the front right dew claw and a laceration to the outside aspect on the fight foreleg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr B. Merton regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Kraken Tyson was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Merton pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Tyson was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
