Superior Breeze was slow to begin.

Superior Wallis and Making Gravy collided soon after the start. Suspense and Riddles collided soon after the start. Kody Talks and Making Gravy collided approaching the 300m mark checking Superior Wallis. Superior Breeze and Superior Wallis collided several times from the 300m mark to the 200m mark. Kody Talks checked off Riddles approaching the winning post. Making Gravy faltered approaching the winning post.

Making Gravy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
