Steward's Report

All Staff & Participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting & catching greyhounds. 

A sample was taken from Make Me Wonder upon arrival at the course. 

Cool Fresco was slow to begin.

Jilly Be Brave and Field Filler collided soon after the start checking Field Filler. Blazin' Cool and Make Me Wonder collided at the 300m mark. Simon Says, Limitless Vodka and Jilly Be Brave collided at the 250m mark. Leaping Lydia checked off Jilly Be Brave at the 200m mark. Jilly Be Brave, Blazin' Cool and Make Me Wonder collided at the 150m mark and multiple times from the 100m mark to the winning post. Leaping Lydia visibly eased approaching the winning post.

Leaping Lydia underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following Race 3, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr Daniel Turnley, the trainer of Leaping Lydia regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Leaping Lydia was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Turnley pleaded guilty to the charge, Leaping Lydia was found guilty and suspended for 28 days Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
