Silver Jett and Confirm were slow to begin.
Flying Viper and Slingshot Trojan collided soon after the start. Silver Jett, Confirm and Moonahcullah Lad collided approaching the 300m mark. Kraken Skye, Flying Viper and Slingshot Trojan collided approaching the 300m mark. Superior Specter veered out and marred Poppy's Boy approaching the 300m mark. Kraken Skye, Moonahcullah Lad and Slingshot Trojan collided approaching the 250m mark. Silver Jett checked off Confirm approaching the 250m mark and lost ground. Confirm and Moonahcullah Lad collided at the 250m mark. Superior Specter crossed to the inside approaching the 200m mark. Confirm checked off Slingshot Trojan at the 200m mark. Superior Specter checked off Confirm approaching the 100m mark. Kraken Skye and Flying Viper collided at the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark.
Silver Jett underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Superior Specter underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind pad abrasion. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Douglas Condon, the handler of Superior Specter regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 300m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Superior Specter was charged with marring. Mr Condon pleaded guilty to the charge, Superior Specter was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
