Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kenny Simpson.
Flying Surprise and Early Limit were slow to begin. Early Limit and Kenny Simpson collided soon after the start. Gunai Fay and Royal Collinda collided soon after the start. Gunai Fay crossed to the outside approaching the 300m mark checking Royal Collinda. Gunai Fay veered out and marred Pat My Lass at the 250m mark severely checking Royal Collinda in turn checking Flying Surprise and In My Pocket. Early Limit and In My Pocket collided approaching the 100m mark. Pat My Lass and Dundee Buzz collided approaching the 100m mark.
Gunai Fay underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Filomeno, the trainer of Gunai Fay regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 250m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Gunai Fay was charged with marring. Mr Filomeno pleaded guilty to the charge, Gunai Fay was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
