A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Marlon.
Why Not Kez was quick to begin. Aston Marlon was slow to begin. Barwidgi, Willow Ash and Why Not Kez collided on the first turn checking Barwidgi, Nowhere Nathe, Willow Ash and Why Not Kez. Willow Ash brushed the running rail approaching the home turn causing Willow Ash to collide with Nowhere Nathe severely checking Nowhere Nathe which fell as a result. Aston Marlon and Fargo collided on the home turn.
Nowhere Nathe underwent a post-race veterinary examination. No apparent injury was reported.
