Daniel Avocado and Midnight Monarch were slow to begin. Bring Your Banjo checked off Perfect Colour approaching the first turn. Zambora Smokey crossed in approaching the first turn severely checking Bring Your Banjo and Perfect Colour, checking Zipping Fleur, Daniel Avocado and Midnight Monarch. Perfect Colour contacted the running rail and lost ground. Bring Your Banjo stumbled and lost ground.
Bring Your Banjo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left front sesamoid injury and a spike wound to the left wrist. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Perfect Colour underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising/contusion to the left thigh. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Zambora Smokey - the winner of the event.
