Ronray Miss was quick to begin. Special Jim and Pop's Max collided soon after the start. Who's Talking and Speedy In Oz collided on the first turn. Who's Talkin galloped on the heels of Ronray Miss approaching the home turn checking Who's Talking and Bobby Heritage, and severely checking Pop's Max which tailed off as a result. Ronray Miss eased in the home straight and collided with Walkaway Ablaze.
Pop's Max was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle and soreness in the left triangle and left tricep. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Terrence Reid, the trainer of the greyhound Ronray Miss. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Ronray Miss with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days Bendigo and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
