Steward's Report
Sir Russ, Don's Bullet, Betty's Return and Grace The Age were slow to begin.
Betty's Return and Dewana Fusion collided soon after the start. Don's Bullet, Status Bo, Dewana Fusion and Campaspe Tina collided entering the back straight checking Dewana Fusion. Betty's Return and Grace The Age collided entering the back straight. Sir Russ and Dewana Fusion collided on the second turn. Status Bo and Shamrock Petal collided on the second turn. Sir Russ eased in the home straight and collided with Status Bo.
Sir Russ was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. Cheryl Hopes the handler of the greyhound Sir Russ. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Sir Russ with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
