Why Not Kez was quick to begin. Frankie Fever, Rollo Ragnar, So Much Mojo, Why Not Colby and Aston Clurey collided on the first turn checking Frankie Fever, Rollo Ragnar and So Much Mojo. Tippa checked off Why Not Kez on the first turn. Tippa galloped on Why Not Kez approaching the home turn. Aston Clurey checked off Baileys On Ice on the home turn causing Tippa, Why Not Colby and Aston Clurey to collide checking Why Not Colby and Aston Clurey severely checking Tippa and Rollo Ragnar causing Tippa to fall. Baileys On Ice turned it's head outwards entering the home straight. So Much Mojo and Aston Clurey collided in the home straight checking So Much Mojo.
Tippa underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
So Much Mojo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left side of face. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Baileys On Ice underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted and found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Johnston, the trainer of Baileys On Ice regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Baileys On Ice was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Johnston pleaded guilty to the charge, Baileys On Ice must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
