Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Lucero was slow to begin.  Hook Along Patch and Snapper Kyle collided approaching the first turn.  Hook Along Patch and Snapper Kyle collided on the first turn checking Hook Along Patch.  Snapper Kyle checked off Lucero approaching the home turn.  Lynee and Drakari collided in the home straight.  Snapper Kyle raced wide in the home straight.

Poppy Choppy, Walk With Grace and Into The River collided on the first turn.  Aston Frigate and On The Duck collided approaching the home turn checking On The Duck.

Amrin underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind tarsal fracture.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Why Not Hutch was quick to begin.  Sunshine Spolly, Eilish and West Of Westeros collided soon after the start.  Eilish galloped on Sunshine Spolly on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Why Not Hutch and West Of Westeros collided on the home turn.  Why Not Hutch and West Of Westeros collided entering the home straight severely checking Why Not Hutch and Swift By Design.  Bromley raced wide in the home straight.

Lethal Hawk was quick to begin.  Flossy Jo was slow to begin.  Magic Voyage and Jayville Tahlia collided entering the back straight checking Rebecca Gay and Magic Voyage.  Magic Voyage and Blazin' Hawk collided in the back straight checking Blazin' Hawk.  Swift Intention checked off Lethal Hawk on the home turn.  Swift Intention raced wide in the home straight.

Why Not Kez was quick to begin.  Frankie Fever, Rollo Ragnar, So Much Mojo, Why Not Colby and Aston Clurey collided on the first turn checking Frankie Fever, Rollo Ragnar and So Much Mojo.  Tippa checked off Why Not Kez on the first turn.  Tippa galloped on Why Not Kez approaching the home turn.  Aston Clurey checked off Baileys On Ice on the home turn causing Tippa, Why Not Colby and Aston Clurey to collide checking Why Not Colby and Aston Clurey severely checking Tippa and Rollo Ragnar causing Tippa to fall.  Baileys On Ice turned it's head outwards entering the home straight.  So Much Mojo and Aston Clurey collided in the home straight checking So Much Mojo.

Tippa underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

So Much Mojo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left side of face.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Baileys On Ice underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted and found to have a left monkey muscle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Johnston, the trainer of Baileys On Ice regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Baileys On Ice was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs. Johnston pleaded guilty to the charge, Baileys On Ice must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Prior to this event, Stewards inspected the track due to torrential rain and concerns over the condtion of the racing surface.

Stewards spoke with the Track Curator who advised that 20mm of rain had fallen in the previous  60 minutes and remedial works to the track were likely to take some time. As a result of the information recieved from the curator  and the fact that the meeting had already been delayed by 2 races, Stewards took the decision to abandon the race meeting.
