Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Reckless Roger and Dazzling Dippy collided approaching the first turn severely checking both greyhounds. That's Easy, Blair's Tulip and Charlotte Tulip collided on the first turn. That's Easy checked off Blair's Tulip approaching the home turn and again approaching the winning post.

Reckless Roger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Livia Bale - the winner of the event.

Chloe Exotic was slow to begin. Aston Colossus began awkwardly and lost considerable ground as a result.

Zipping Blossom and Zipping Coby collided on the first turn checking Zipping Coby who stumbled as a result. Zipping Blossom raced wide approaching the home turn and entering the home straight. Chloe Exotic and Aston Colossus collided entering the home straight.

Aston Colossus underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  

Zipping Coby underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid muscle, a left hamstring and a right triangle muscle injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Chatterbox Tilly.

Fabriola Yes was slow to begin.

Tiggerlong Bundy, Fabriola Yes and Aratuza Bale collided soon after the start, checking Aratuza Bale. Perfect Glory and Aston Holdings collided soon after the start. Call Me Tiger and Chatterbox Tilly collided on the first turn. Perfect Glory crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Chatterbox Tilly, Call Me Tiger, Tiggerlong Bundy and Blaviken Bale, causing Call Me Tiger to fall. Blaviken Bale, Tiggerlong Bundy and Aston Holdings collided on the home turn. Blaviken Bale veered in and marred Chatterbox Tilly several times in the home straight.

Call Me Tiger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Blaviken Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg torn nail. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative Mr G. Dailly regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Blaviken Bale was charged with marring.  Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Blaviken Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Aston Casino, Short Tyson and Dashing Dante collided approaching the first turn checking Short Tyson. Dashing Dante crossed to the rails on the first turn checking Crown Ella and Huey's Dream. Xella Bale and Aston Casino collided on the first turn checking Xella Bale and Tiggerlong Al. Work Zone and Short Tyson collided approaching the home turn.

Fernando's Flare, Done Time and Apache Chaz collided approaching the first turn checking Done Time and Fernando's Flare. Flying Farrokh checked off Lizzie's Entity on the first turn.

Love A Talk, Lightning Ben and Zipping Radar were slow to begin.

Have A Roadie, Mr. Mufasa and Aston Gates collided approaching the first turn checking Mr. Mufasa and Aston Gates. Lightning Ben faltered on the first turn and lost ground. Who Cry Now, Love A Talk, Rockstar Brass, Zipping Radar and Have A Roadie raced wide in the home straight. Who Cry Now and Zipping Radar collided approaching the winning post.

Lightning Ben underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms J. Torr regarding the racing manners of Who Cry Now in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Ms Torr, viewing the available race footage (head on and side on) and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. 

Curlin' Merlin was slow to begin. Blackpool Flash was quick to begin.

Blackpool Flash crossed to the rail soon after the start causing Legasov Bale, Major Winston and Especial Empire to collide. Aston Cabernet, Legasov Bale, Major Winston and Penta Allen collided approaching the first turn checking all four greyhounds, causing Aston Cabernet to contact the running rail.

Penta Allen underwent a post-race veterinary examination, after suffering interference in the catching pen, and was found to have a right metatarsal fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Harlow was quick to begin.

Romeo Bale and Sadie Bale collided soon after the start. Lady Fabio and Fernando Booker collided approaching the first turn. Sadie Bale and Lady Fabio collided approaching the first turn. Dayana Bale checked off Aston Guinness approaching the first turn checking Aston Guinness. Dayana Bale and Romeo Bale collided approachng the frst turn. Aston Guinness visibly eased on the first turn and lost ground as a result. Aston Guinness, Dayana Bale, Sadie Bale and Lady Fabio collided approaching the home turn. Sadie Bale and Lady Fabio collided approaching the home turn.

Aston Guinness underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 10, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr S. Kaltsis regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Aston Guinness was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Kaltsis pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Guinness was suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Pansy Parkinson – Late scratching at 9.48am when Ms. L Cockerell reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Nino's Girl, Hojilla Bale and Jullisa Bale were quick to begin. 

Hear The Drum and Blackpool Storm collided soon after the start. Zanfrey Bale, Jullisa Bale and Hojilla Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Jullisa Bale, Hojilla Bale and Another Mirage. Blackpool Storm checked off Hear The Drum approaching the home turn causing Blackpool Storm and Zanfrey Bale to collide. Zanfrey Bale checked off Hear The Drum on the home turn.

So Hazy, Defiance and Dash Of Reyne collided soon after the start. So Hazy and Dash Of Reyne collided approaching the first turn. Fabriola Acai, Big Bash Perna and Smithy Keeping collided on the first turn. Fabriola Acai checked off So Hazy approaching the home turn. Big Bash Perna and Smithy Keeping collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds and causing Dash Of Reyne to race wide. Defiance checked off Fabriola Acai approaching the home turn.

Bella Porscha - The frequency of racing was discussed with representative Mr D. Cortese, his comments were noted.

Gypsy Cinnamon and Bella Porscha collided approaching the first turn. Elanda Bale, El Ray Leon and Bella Porscha collided approaching the first turn checking Bella Porscha. El Ray Leon and Kanga Lights collided approaching the home turn. 

Bella Porscha underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

A post-race sample was taken from Elanda Bale - placed 3rd in the event. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D. Gibbons regarding the significant betting fluctuation on the greyhound. Mr Gibbons explained that the greyhound is new to his kennel and trialled quickly at Ballarat last Saturday. Mr Gibbons added that the kennel does not bet and that he had not instructed anyone else to wager on the greyhound. Betting transactions for this event will be evaluated by the GRIU Betting Analyst.  

Grand Giveaway - The frequency of racing was discussed with Trainer Mr S. Baulch, his comments were noted.

Habib, Miss Winks and Southwood Ace collided approaching the first turn checking Southwood Ace. Southwood Ace and Balance collided approaching the home turn checking Midnight Bling. Habib and Aston Rum collided approaching the home turn. Habib crossed to the rail in the home straight checking Grand Giveaway.
