Steward's Report
Piper's Unicorn was quick to begin. Indy Nevada, Quade Bale and Invictus Lenny collided soon after the start. Our Girl Daisy checked off Unknown Warrior approaching the first turn severely checking Quade Bale and Invictus Lenny. Unknown Warrior visibly eased on the home turn and collided with Piper's Unicorn. Piper's Unicorn and Unknown Warrior collided several times on the home turn and again in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Unknown Warrior underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the left hind paw and spike wound over the left hind and right hind toes. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Chris Stanton regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Unknown Warrior was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stanton pleaded guilty to the charge, Unknown Warrior must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
