Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Falconetti.
Riverdale Bear was slow to begin. Riverdale Bear checked off Flying Jamaica soon after the start. Tashendo checked off Kraken Roger approaching the first turn. Flying Jamaica checked off Taylor Jayde on the first turn. Flying Jamaica and Taylor Jayde collided on the home turn. Kraken Roger visibly eased on the home turn severely checking Falconetti and Riverdale Bear; both greyhounds were forced wide as a result. Tashendo checked off Falconetti on the home turn. Tashendo marred Falconetti in the home straight.
Tashendo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Boehmke, the trainer of Tashendo regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tashendo was charged with marring. Mr Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Tahendo is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Kraken Roger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the left hock and sand toe on the left hind paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Ms Gayle Lemin regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Kraken Roger was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Lemin pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Roger must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
