Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards were advised that the Track was medium harrowed on Wednesday, 26 August.

Ollie and Orange Justice were slow to begin.  Innocent Diva and Aston Bomber collided soon after the start checking Innocent Diva.  Nadia Bale checked off Rockstar Harley approaching the first turn checking Innocent Diva.  Nadia Bale and Ollie collided on the first turn.  Aston Bomber eased on the home turn.

Aston Bomber was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Mr T. Dailly, Handler of Aston Bomber.  Mr Dailly declined the option to have the greyhound revetted.    Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Aston Bomber  was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Bomber is suspended for 28 days at Geelong Track and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zipping Mabel checked off Fernando Fury soon after the start.  Gypsy Cinnamon and Istrid Bale collided approaching the first turn.  Galiena Bale and Fernando Fury collided approaching the first turn.  Zipping Blossom checked off Fernando Fury on the first turn and collided with Gypsy Cinnamon.  Galiena Bale, Istrid Bale and Wellington Boot collided on the first turn.  Zipping Blossom raced wide on the home turn and collided with Veritee Bale. Zipping Blossom and Veritee Bale collided  collided  several times in the home straight.

Rockstar Jelfs and Taiepa were quick to begin.  Fearless Pigeon was slow to begin.  Fearless Pigeon checked off Westcott Bale approaching the first turn.  White Assassin, Taiepa and Rockstar Jelfs collided on the first turn checking Taiepa.  Rockstar Jelfs and White Assassin collided approaching the home turn.  Westcott Bale, Taiepa, Rockstar Jelfs, Yussuf Bale and White Assassin collided on the home turn checking White Assassin.  Rockstar Jelfs checked off Yussuf Bale in the home straight.  Taiepa and Westcott Bale collided approaching the winning post. Initial It raced wide throughout the event.

Spearhead Joe was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Eagles Nest Egg, Blow Me Kisses, Flexing and Alabama Anna collided approaching the first turn checking Flexing and Alabama Anna.  All Night Brenda, Eagles Nest Egg and Blow Me Kisses collided approaching the first turn checking All Night Brenda.  Reiko Martini, Eagles Nest Egg and Rockstar Manners collided on the first turn checking Rockstar Manners.  Reiko Martini and Alabama Anna raced wide on the home turn.  All Night Brenda raced wide entering the home straight.

Quan Bale – Late scratching at 3.12pm when trainer Andrea Dailly reported the greyhound to have an illness. (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
