Steward's Report
Shaded Disguise was slow to begin.
Sweet Hostility and Cloncurry Girl collided soon after start and again approaching the first turn checking Cloncurry Girl. Sweet Hostility and Strike collided approaching the first turn. King Brown Trav checked off Wee Gem on the first turn. Wee Gem and As Only Is collided on the first turn checking Wee Gem. Strike marred Shaded Disguise approaching the home turn. Darnum Dozer eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight.
Strike underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Russell Mcrae, the trainer of Strike regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Strike was charged with marring. Mr. Mcrae pleaded not guilty to the charge, Strike was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Darnum Dozer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind spike wound, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Peter Handley, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Darnum Dozer was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Handley pleaded guilty to the charge, Darnum Dozer must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
