Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Sovereign Wind.
Butternut was quick to begin. Summer Girl and Uncle Drew collided soon after the start. Dundee Ace and Summer Girl collided approaching the first turn. Talk Talk Talk was checked off Rall's Girl on the first turn. Talk Talk Talk was checked off Summer Girl on the home turn. Sovereign Wind turned its head to the outside in the home straight and collided with Butternut. Uncle Drew raced wide in the home straight.
Sovereign Wind underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left metacarpal. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. D. Douch regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Sovereign Wind was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Douch pleaded guilty to the charge, Sovereign Wind must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
