Serengeti Icon and Smoothe Talker were slow to begin.
Parumba Barty and Jayville Slick collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. New Punchline and Zipping Clifford collided on the first turn checking Zipping Clifford and Jayville Slick, Jayville Slick raced wide as result. Parumba Barty and Smooth Talker collided on the second turn. Zipping Clifford and Jayville Slick collided on the third turn checking Zipping Clifford. Line Seeker, New Punchline and Parumba Barty collided on the fourth turn checking all three greyhounds. New Punchline and Jayville Slick collided on the fifth turn checking New Punchline and Zipping Clifford. Parumba Barty tired in the home straight.
Parumba Barty underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms Lina Repici, the trainer of Parumba Barty regarding its performance in the home straight. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Parumba Barty must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
