A pre-race sample was taken from Simmons.
Simmons and Raglan Viper were quick to begin.
Run To You checked off Pontiac Bandit soon after the start. Sonic Sensation, Pontiac Bandit and Fashion Icon collided approaching the first turn checking Pontiac Bandit and Fashion Icon. Simmons and Pontiac Bandit collided on the second turn checking Simmons. Run To You and Fashion Icon collided on the third turn checking Fashion Icon. Pontiac Bandit visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Pontiac Bandit underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no appaprent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms Nicole Lund, the trainer of Pontiac Bandit after she declined a re-vet, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Pontiac Bandit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Lund pleaded guilty to the charge, Pontiac Bandit is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
