Steward's Report
My Girl Sal - Was a late scratching at 1.54pm by Order of Stewards acting in accordance with GAR 20 (4) (b), in the best interests of greyhound racing after Trainer Ms Carolyn Cooke failed to adhere to the face-covering standards recently implemented by GRV under COVID-19. A warning was issued to Ms Cooke at kennelling time, where advice was given around these expectations and what was now required from participants on-track. Unfortunately, Ms Cooke was observed again failing to meet these standards just prior to Race 5, which resulted in My Girl Sal being withdrawn from the event by Stewards, in the interests of greyhound racing. The matter was referred to the Chief Steward for follow-up.
Flywheel Frankey went up with the lids. Diama Miss and Calabrese Gino were quick to begin.
Symbol For You and Italia Bella collided approaching the first turn. Flywheel Frankey checked off Diama Miss approaching the home turn. Italia Bella and Where's Ali collided approaching the home turn. Symbol For You and Italia Bella collided in the home straight.
Where's Ali underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no stand down period was reported.
Representative Miss Ellisa Franklin requested that Italia Bella undergo a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Italia Bella, a post race blood sample was subsequently taken.
