Millennium Star was quick to begin. Pontiac Express and Boes High Five were slow to begin.
Somerton Osprey, Without Fear, Victory Raja and Hurricane Sue collided soon after the start checking Without Fear. Victory Raja and Hurricane Sue collided approaching the first turn checking Hurricane Sue. Somerton Osprey checked Millennium Star approaching the home turn.
Hurricane Sue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left sartorius muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
