Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Boes High Five, My Girl Sal and Woorarra Warrior were slow to begin.

My Girl Sal, Red Yannick and Lucero collided approaching the first turn checking Red Yannick.  Boes High Five and Red Yannick collided on the first turn.  Lucero and Woorarra Warrior collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Boes High Five and Lucero raced wide in the home straight.  

Stewards spoke to Mr Graham Nicoll, the trainer of Cutie Kay after the greyhound performed below market expectation. Mr Nicoll stated that Cutie Kay has been racing well over the shorter distances and he is trying her over the longer journey. He further stated that although he was hoping for an improvement from her previous start she had run to expectation and he had not heavily supported the greyhound. Stewards noted the explanation.

Horace Bale crossed in soon after the start checking Hurricane Miss, Harper's Girl and Walk With Grace.  Walk With Grace clipped the heels of Hook Along Patch approaching the first turn.  His Stop It and Hook Along Patch collided on the first turn.  Walk With Grace and Hurricane Miss collided on the first turn.  Harper's Girl and Capital Kay collided on the home turn.  

Insidious Rio and Aeroplane Greg were quick to begin.  Zumi's Swagger was slow to begin.

Jodie's Magic checked off Ishmy Dozer approaching the first turn.  Token Lilly checked off Aeroplane Greg in the home straight.

American Spy and Awesome Arby collided approaching the winning post.

Blockette and Black Mintie collided approaching the first turn checking Blockette.  Buddy Blinx and Bella Edition collided approaching the first turn checking Bella Edition.  Midnight Storm lost considerable ground on the first turn.  Bella Edition and Blockette collided approaching the home turn.  Thunderbolt Jack galloped on Midnight Storm approaching the home turn checking Midnight Storm.  

Midnight Storm underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8 and was found to have a left triangle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Boes Bounty was slow to begin.

Boes Bounty and Flossy Jo collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.  Texas Metal visibly eased approaching the winning post.

Texas Metal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9. No apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Kerry Minne, the representative of Texas Metal regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Texas Metal was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Minne pleaded not guilty to the charge; Texas Metal was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

What's Up Skip and Thistle Rock were quick to begin.  Secret Package, Splinter and Love A Talk were slow to begin.

Secret Package Why Not Rose and Brayden Lennox collided on the first turn checking Brayden Lennox and severely checking Splinter.  Sally's Pride raced wide in the home straight.
