Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Predator underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr S. Curtain regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Predator was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Curtain pleaded guilty to the charge, Predator is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Belt Up Baron underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg toe injury, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr L. Rowe, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Belt Up Baron was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Rowe pleaded guilty to the charge, Belt Up Baron must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ralph regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn and approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Luna Chick was charged with marring. Mr Ralph pleaded guilty to the charge, Luna Chick is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sharnee Rose underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Sharnee Rose was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to representative Mr P. Riley, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Sharnee Rose was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Riley pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sharnee Rose was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Never Simple underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Representative Mr J. Musselwhite regarding the greyhounds racing manners from approaching the third turn to approaching the fourth turn and on the fifth turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Never Simple was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Musselwhite pleaded not guilty to the charge, Never Simple was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
