Steward's Report
Run To You – Late scratching at 4.14pm 13th May 2020 when trainer Mr T. Currie reported the greyhound to have a leg injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
The Stewards interviewed Trainer Mr T. Currie in relation to the late withdrawal of Run To You from this race. The Stewards have requested the Veterinary Records for Run To You for the preceding week be produced for review and further, acting in accordance with GAR 20 (3)(v), that a veterinary certificate be produced to Stewards, before any further nominations will be accepted.
Peace Of Hope and Dundee Prince were quick to begin.
Catch Me Spolly and Poppo's Legacy collided approaching the first turn checking Poppo's Legacy. Montanaro and Montaro collided approaching the first turn checking Montaro and Peace Of Hope. Montanaro crossed out and eased on the first turn checking Catch Me Spolly. Montaro galloped on Dundee Prince on the first turn checking Dundee Prince and severely checking Montaro. Montanaro eased approaching the winning post.
Montanaro underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right wrist sprains and a spike wound to the right hind foot, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr D. Jensen, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Montanaro was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Jensen pleaded guilty to the charge, Montanaro must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
