Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Gemma Rapid.
Gemma Rapid and Especial Envy collided soon after the start. Gemma Rapid checked off Deadly Walk on the first turn. Chill Out Diesel turned it's head to the inside and visibly eased entering the home straight. Chill Out Diesel marred Especial Envy in the home straight. Gemma Rapid raced wide in the home straight.
Chill Out Diesel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted follwing race 8. Chill Out Diesel was found to have injuries to the right chest and right thigh. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. M. Johnson, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Chill Out Diesel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Johnson pleaded guilty to the charge, Chill Out Diesel must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Crackerjack Jaws – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
