Steward's Report
Goconut Gloria – New declared weight of 27.7kgs, last raced at 29.0kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Kiewa Cowboy.
Cozi Fitz - Late scratching at 10:33pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to vomiting. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Our China Plate was slow to begin.
Kiewa Cowboy visibly eased and turned its head outwards soon after the start. Kiewa Cowboy checked off Almendra on the first turn and raced wide as a result. Sweet Potato checked off Coconut Gloria on the home turn.
Kiewa Cowboy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr W Leitch, the trainer of Kiewa Cowboy regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kiewa Cowboy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Leitch pleaded guilty to the charge, Kiewa Cowboy is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
