Magic Flyer was slow to begin.
Stinga Rebel, Allert Lea, Lynlaw Zane and King Mogambo collided soon after the start. Major Effort and Slipaway Penny collided soon after the start. King Mogambo, Lynlaw Zane, Major Effort and Slipaway Penny collided on the first turn checking Major Effort and Magic Flyer. Lynlaw Zane, Slipaway Penny and King Mogambo collided approaching the second turn. Slipaway Penny and King Mogambo collided on the second turn checking Stinga Rebel and Major Effort and severely checking King Mogambo which contacted the running rail as a result. Major Effort raced wide in the home straight.
Major Effort was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right shoulder, a 7 day stand down penalty was imposed.
