Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Franklin, handler of the greyhound Whiz Kid and reminded him of his responsibilities after it was established that he had placed the greyhound in the incorrect kennel during kenneling.
Whiz Kid and Spa Lision collided soon after the start checking Spa Lision and War Talk. War Talk checked off Sunraysia Sam approaching the first turn. Bowstreet Buster crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Status Bo, Illegal Path, Whiz Kid, Mighty Mullet, War Talk and Sunraysia Sam. Spa Lision and Sunraysia Sam collided approaching the home turn. Whiz Kid checked off Status Bo approaching the home turn causing Whiz Kid to collide with Sunraysia Sam and Spa Lision. Whiz Kid stumbled as a result. Illegal Path and War Talk collided entering the home straight. Bowstreet Buster and Sunraysia Sam raced wide in the home straight.
Whiz Kid was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hock. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
