Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.8 degrees.
Talented – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
Apple Valley was slow to begin.
Apple Valley shifted out entering the home straight and marred Ishmy Neecy, checking Taya Bale as a result. Horizon Princess checked off Talented in the home straight. Apple Valley and Ishmy Neecy collided in the home straight.
Apple Valley underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and abrasions to the right hindleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Miss S Quinlan, the trainer of Apple Valley regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Apple Valley was charged with marring. Miss Quinlan pleaded guilty to the charge, Apple Valley is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
