Steward's Report
Take A Lily – Late scratching at 7:39am when Mr Shane Jack reported the greyhound to have a right elbow injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Macauliff – In accordance with GAR 73, presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Healesville on 22/11/2019. Macauliff was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Macauliff was Cleared to race.
Galloping Bluear was quick to begin. Admiral Arby and Devon Shadow were slow to begin.
Kip Your Best and Wolfie's Swagger collided soon after the start. Jazzier checked off Wolfie's Swagger soon after start. Kip Your Best and Encantador collided approaching the first turn. Admiral Arby checked off Devon Shadow on the first turn. Kip Your Best and Wolfie's Swagger collided on the first turn severely checking Kip Your Best. Wolfie's Swagger and Encantador collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Admiral Arby raced wide entering the home straight and again in the homestraight and lost ground.
Admiral Arby underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following Race 6, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr Colin Dalton, the handler of Admiral Arby regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Admiral Arby must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Wolfie's Swagger - third placegetter in the event.
