Regal Bean, Brett Hunt, Kowalski and I'm Back Baby were slow to begin.
Regal Bean and Brett Hunt collided soon after the start. Baffle Plate, Shaw Road Lady and Dolan Springs collided approaching the first turn checking Shaw Road Lady. Brett Hunt galloped on the heels of Bet Bet Betty approaching the first turn checking Regal Bean. Brett Hunt checked off Bet Bet Betty approaching the first turn checking Shaw Road Lady. Kowalski checked off Brett Hunt approaching the home turn checking Shaw Road Lady. Bet Bet Betty and I'm Back Baby collided several times approaching the home turn severely checking Bet Bet Betty, I'm Back Baby and Brett Hunt and causing Regal Bean to fall as a result. Kowalski, Brett Hunt and Shaw Road Lady collided on the home turn. Kowalski eased entering the home straight and collided with Brett Hunt and Shaw Road Lady. Brett Hunt and Kowalski collided several times in the home straight.
Regal Bean was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Kowalski was vetted and after being revetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound had no apparent injury, no stand down period was imposed.
Acting under GAR 69(1)(b) stewards charged Kowalski with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a STAT, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
