This race was delayed approximately 9 minutes due to a repair required on the water pipe above the rail on the first turn.
Con Rod was quick to begin.
Con Rod and Why Not Patrick collided approaching the first turn checking Con Rod which stumbled as a result and lost ground.
Con Rod underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg shin soreness. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
