The start of the event was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to operational issues.

Legend Rose and Bernmar Tiny were slow to begin. 

You Sunshine and Awesome Assett collided soon after the start. Hook Along Book and Staggermite collided at the 250m mark checking Staggermite, Hook Along Book and Hi Calling. You Sunshine checked off Bernmar Tiny at the 250m mark. Hi Calling and Staggermite collided several times at the 175m mark checking Staggermite. Hi Calling shifted out, visibly eased and turned its head at the 150m mark, checking Staggermite. Hook Along Book and Hi Calling collided at the 100m mark.

High Calling underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr D. Baker declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted . 

Stewards spoke to Mr D. Baker, the trainer of High Calling regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 150m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Hi Calling was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Baker pleaded guilty to the charge, Hi Calling is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Lure Driver, Mr L. Gough regarding the lure distance from the leading greyhound and reminded him to drive within the distance prescribed by GRV. This matter will be referred to the relevant manager.

Flying Banjo was slow to begin

Taya Bale and Mac's Secret collided soon after the start. Thug Rose and Mac's Secret collided at the 150m mark.

Gunner's Hawk –New declared weight of 33.5kg, last raced at 32.2kg.

Rockin' Richard, Hook Along Poppy and Mighty Tracey collided soon after the start. My Girl Lilly, Rockin' Richard, Hook Along Poppy and Mighty Tracey collided at the 250m mark checking Rockin' Richard, Hook Along Poppy. Rockin' Richard and Mighty Tracey collided several times from the 250m to the 150m mark. Mighty Tracey checked off My Girl Lilly approaching the winning post.

Jiggly Wiggly and Further Dreamer were slow to begin.

Blistering Betty and Cash Or Card collided at the 250m mark. Further Dreamer and Run Maggie Run collided approaching winning post.

A pre-race sample was taken from Three Soldiers.

Tim Tam Sam was slow to begin.

Tim Tam Sam and Three Soldiers collided soon after the start. As Only Is and Blazin' Hawk collided at the 300m mark causing Blazin' Hawk to collide with Kid Callum. Three Soldiers and Ruby's Rosa collided at the 250m mark. Three Soldiers crossed to the inside at the 250m mark checking Kid Callum. Kid Callum and Three Soldiers faltered at the 175m mark and tailed off. Black Catani checked off Tim Tam Sam at the 100m mark. 

Kid Callum underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right shoulder and right pectoral muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Three Soldiers underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8. Three Soldiers was found to have injuries to the right hamstring, right quadriceps and right monkey muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from April Jay.

April Jay and Hot Cruiser collided soon after the start. Aurora Miss and Medium Rare collided soon after the start. I'm Orion and Tinker Bess collided at the 300m mark. Sweet Ambush crossed to the outside at the 300m mark and collided with Tinker Bess several times. Hot Cruiser, Sweet Ambush and Tinker Bess collided at the 50m mark checking Sweet Ambush.

Stewards spoke to Mrs C. Mcmillan and issued her with a warning regarding her conduct behind the starting boxes pursuant to GAR 86 (q).

Pursuant to GAR 104(7) Steward Miss D Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
