Buckle Up York checked off Kimani approaching the first turn. Pacific Action checked off Dan's Hopeful on the first turn and collided with Gone Early checking Pacific Action and Gone Early. Kimani and Bronelly Buster collided on the first turn. Buckle Up York and Dan's Hopeful collided on the home turn. Pacific Action and Buckle Up York collided in the home straight.
Buckle Up York cramped approaching the winning post and subsequently collapsed in the catching pen. Buckle Up York underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped and to have spike wounds to both hind paws. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp) Buckle Up York must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
