Steward's Report
Maramba - Late scratching at 14.31pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a right back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Pinnaroo was quick to begin.
Sudden Call checked off Almendra approaching the first turn. Almendra checked off Fast Freddie approaching the first turn. Sudden Call checked off Fast Freddie entering the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Pinnaroo - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr N. Hunt, the Trainer of Pinnaroo, regarding the betting fluctuations ($15 into $6.50). Mr Hunt explained that he did not personally support the greyhound and his partner only had a small bet. Mr Hunt added that Pinnaroo had trialled only fairly at Geelong in the lead up to tonight’s event and that he was unable to provide an explanation for the improved performance and the betting move.
