True Alpha and Cimarron Strip were quick to begin.  Sally's Pride, Panda Rose and Johnny Be Good collided soon after the start checking Panda Rose.  Zereva and All Class Fairy collided soon after the start.  Zereva, All Class Fairy and Sally's Pride collided on the first turn checking All Class Fairy and Sally's Pride.  Sally's Pride and Invictus Seeker raced wide in the home straight.

Wild Poppy - late scratching at 5.41pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an abraded webbing on the left front foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Montaro was quick to begin.  Encantador, Taya Bale, Eagle Jet and Superior Cripps collided soon after the start.  Montaro and Eagle Jet collided approaching the first turn.  Encantador and Taya Bale collided on the first turn.  Texas Metal was checked off Montaro entering the home straight.  Encantador and Taya Bale collided approaching the winning post.

Triscay was quick to begin.  Galloping Bluear, Chill Out Dusty and Unit Bale collided soon after the start.  Chill Out Dusty, Unit Bale and Top Silk collided on the first turn severely checking Chill Out Dusty and Top Silk causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Top Silk raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Galloping Bluear raced wide in the home straight.

Chill Out Dusty underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the right hind foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Top Silk underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8, no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Lindrea, the trainer of Top Silk regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Top Silk must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sawan Sawan was quick to begin.  Sawan Sawan, Annie Rose, Untainted, Axle Whelan, Bush Song and Lightning Beach collided soon after the start.  Sawan Sawan, Axle Whelan, Bush Song and Bricabrac collided approaching the first turn.  Untainted was checked off Sawan Sawan on the first turn.  Axle Whelan was checked off Untainted on the first turn and stumbled as a result.  Untainted faltered approaching the home turn and subsequently pulled up.

Untainted underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hock and was humanely euthanased.

Banjo's Affair was slow to begin.  Patricia Maureen and Mighty Max Gone collided approaching the first turn.  Patricia Maureen galloped on Lemonade Kid on the first turn.  Patricia Maureen and Little Samara collided approaching the home turn checking Patricia Maureen.  Mighty Max Gone and Little Samara collided in the home straight.

More Deductions was slow to begin.  More Deductions and Lottie Glenda collided on the first turn checking Lottie Glenda, Boombox Robbie galloped on Lottie Glenda as a result checking both greyhounds.  Sole Trader and Jebrynah Green collided on the first turn.  Belt Up Ronny was checked off More Deductions approaching the home turn.
